11 Months and Fellowshipping

This month has been filled with a lot of opportunities to fellowship with friends and with each other. After not having any visitors from home since early February, the heavens opened up this last month. My sister Jill came down for a week early in the month, and my best friend/Scott’s cousin Annie came down at the end of the month. It was such a blessing to spend time with them, show them our lives, and introduce them to our friends. Both of them had a great time, and the house sure felt empty when they left. Hospitality isn’t something we’ve had to space to practice much in the past, but we love that we have a whole house to host people in. Hopefully they are as pleased to spend time with us as we are with them. We’ll have more opportunities to hone our skills next week as another missionary family stays with us, and again in September when Scott’s parents visit.

In addition we’ve continued to fellowship with our Bible study girls. They love spending time with us, and we love spending time with them. It gives us a chance to get to know them better in informal settings, and builds the trust that we need to really speak into their lives. They go running with us 3 times a week – sometimes followed by homework help sessions.

Finally, Scott and I had a very precious opportunity to fellowship with each other this past month. On July 21st we celebrated our 5th anniversary by heading to a nice hotel on the beach for two nights. It was wonderful to get away from everything and just spend time hanging out and playing in the waves together. We hadn’t had a getaway in a very long time, and were thankful for the opportunity.

On a final “fellowship” note, we sure are looking forward to fellowshipping with family and friends when we come home for the month of December!
